In the United States, the H. Hovnanian Family Foundation’s philanthropy is focused primarily on Monmouth and Ocean Counties of New Jersey. As Mr. Hovnanian acquired his wealth in these counties, he chose to direct his philanthropic endeavors in the same local communities.

Highlights

2024
A New Van for Shore Clubhouse's Beneficiaries
The Foundation provided a matching grant of $50,000 to Shore Clubhouse for the purchase of a second van for their beneficiaries. This program in Monmouth County provides resources and support for adults living with mental illness.
2023
Homes For All Received a 5-year Grant
Awarded a grant of $500,000 over the next five years, Homes For All supports Ocean County resident home repairs for low-income residents, particularly seniors in the Holiday City communities.

A new da Vinci Xi Robot for the Riverview Medical Center
Riverview Medical Center Foundation received a $750,000 grant for the purchase of a new da Vinci Xi Robot to be used within their Center for Robotic Surgery.
2022
Villanova University Receives $10 Million Gift
The University was given a $10 million gift from The H. Hovnanian Family Foundation to support several significant academic initiatives, including the continued modernization of Falvey Library.
2021
$5 Million to Community Medical Center
Community Medical Center (CMC), an RWJBarnabas Health (RWJBH) facility, has announced a $5 million gift from local philanthropist, Edele Hovnanian, on behalf of the H. Hovnanian Family Foundation.
2020
New Signage for the Ocean County Vocational Technical School
The Foundation contributed $83,528 to Ocean County Vocational Technical School for the replacement of their signage at the Toms River Program location.
2019
Toms River Regional School District Multi-Year Grants
Hovnanian Foundation Spurs Innovation With Two Multi-Year Grants totaling $345,000 over the next three years.

$3.75 Million Grant To Benefit Health Sciences At Ocean County College

2024
iGorts Public Service Fellowship Launched in Regions
In support of the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, the Foundation funds and implements the iGorts program in the regions of Armenia. As a pilot, five fully-funded iGorts fellows will be placed in the Shirak region to address specific priority needs.
2023
Fellowships Program Launched
The Fellowships program designed to elevate Armenian talent on the global stage was launched. The program provides vital support to Armenians, enabling them to showcase their expertise at prestigious international events by covering the eligible travel expenses.

The Armenia Project (TAP) Founded
TAP is an educational non-profit that promotes the democratic and economic development of Armenia by advancing the country’s communications ecosystem. Through strategic programs and diverse partnerships, TAP raises global awareness about Armenia and the region.

Emergency Grants Targeting Displaced Population from Artsakh
In response to the ethnic cleansing of Artsakh's Armenian population, the Foundation provided financial support in the total amount of $222,284 USD to seven organizations dedicated to the urgent care and integration of Armenians from Artsakh into Armenia.

Newly Marked Educational Trail at YBG
The Foundation and HIKEArmenia funded a cool new project carried out by Trails for Change NGO in the Yerevan Botanical Garden. We created a unique educational trail to guide visitors on a curated pathway, complete with informational sign boards, directional signs, and information kiosks to educate visitors on all the various flora.

New Recipients of Foundation’s Project Support in Armenia
The H. Hovnanian Family Foundation announced its latest round of grant-winning proposals, selected from 15 submissions. The awarded non-profit entities, seven in total, have received financial assistance of $107,500.

Fulbright-Hovnanian Program New Nominees
Three new finalists were nominated for the Fulbright-Hovnanian Program for 2022-2023 academic year studies who were tandouts from the 30+ applicants who underwent a competitive interview process.

Bringing Water to Tavush
The H. Hovnanian Family Foundation, together with the Government of Armenia, is actively involved in the improvement of water systems in Tavush region border villages.

Arabkir MC COVID Module Created
Funding the creation of a COVID module at the Arabkir Medical Center in Yerevan, Armenia.

HIKEArmenia Created
Hovnanian Foundation takes over and creates the HIKEArmenia non-profit NGO whose mission is to develop hiking infrastructure in Armenia and promote the country as a premier hiking destination.
